Local Events Planner Mitchell Crosby of JMC Charleston
is featured in two National Magazines--in the November
issue of Every Day with Rachel Ray, as well as the November
Issue of Town & Country.
Mitchell gave the editors of Every Day With Rachel
Ray an insider’s tour of Charleston from the farmer’s
market to the best galleries, restaurants, hotels and
‘in’ places for people ‘from off’
to go. Writer John Kessler followed Mitchell for two
days, taking in the sights and sounds, and absorbing
the Low country culture. “I would never have seen
the things that I did in last two days without Mitchell,”
says Kessler. He makes me want to return and explore
the richness of this city and the beauty that is the
Low country.”
Crosby was also featured in Town & Country’s
160 Years of Dazzling Events Party Issue in On The Town
– Party Venues. The segment featured the William
Aiken House, a favorite site for Charleston parties.
Crosby says “celebrating Charleston-style is celebrating
with friends and neighbors, and that is what makes the
William Aiken House such a spectacular location for
a party, whether it is an intimate party or a grand
reception for 600, it feels as though you were entertaining
at home.”
Assembling a multi-talented and vibrant team, the Charleston
native integrates his extensive knowledge of the Low
country and its resources to craft settings that sparkle
with the nuances of the classic Charleston lifestyle
wrapped in great party chic. He structures sites that
speak to the senses, drawing host and guest into an
environment shaped exclusively for them.
Offering comprehensive destination management services
that include event planning and design, styling, catering,
personalized corporate amenities, tours and private
venue management; Mitchell brings a wealth of expertise
to each endeavor. And his decision to form his own company,
JMC Charleston, in July of 2004 marked a natural progression
in a stellar career.
“Charleston is the most hospitable city in America…and
we as Charlestonians love things beautifully presented,”
says Crosby. The overall tone of his events, whether
lavish or casual, aims to preserve those qualities through
his flair for weaving that singular kind of “beauty
and grace of entertaining” into food and décor.
In addition to a phenomenal memory for details and preferences,
he taps his connections throughout the world to supply
the specialty items that distinguish his events.
