The BB&T Charleston Food+Wine Festival is set to combine the city’s best culinary experiences into one spectacular weekend, February 28-March 2, 2008.

A food and wine event like no other, the Festival provides guests the opportunity to meet and get a taste of some of the country’s best chefs, authors and wine professionals. Guests can educate their palates with Southern cuisine and the Low country’s unique food styles, heritage and recipes at one of the 50+ events throughout the weekend.

Highlights include the Celebration of Charleston Chefs Opening Night Party, the Restaurant Dine-Around, Bubbles & Sweets, the King Street Sip & Stroll, the Lowcountry Gospel Brunch and the BBQ, Blues, & Brew.

An expanded Culinary Village takes over Marion Square Park in downtown Charleston with two Grand Tasting Tents, a Culinary Competitions, Cooking Demonstrations, Chef Tastings and more.

“Denise Barto and I have designed and produced the events for the BB&T Charleston Food + Wine Festival for four years, and what a time we have had,” says Crosby.

“This year, we reflected on Charleston’s long trade history with the Orient and drew on Chinese Chippendale found in local homes,” relates Crosby. “The color palette of blue, white and yellow was dictated by the six foot Chinese vases and the first spring flower to bloom in Charleston—the forsythia.  Blue and white toile linens were used along with a plethora of yellow English roses, and a montage of deep blue and light blue hydrangea.” Guests at the event could not have been more pleased—from the fantasy created in the tents to the cuisine from eighteen of the country’s top chefs; the Festival was once again a roaring success.
